Herald Review - July 27, 1967

"Fifty tons of pipe were bolted into a 270-foot section and dragged across the Mississippi River in Grand Rapids on July 21. The pipe especially made for river crossings, weighs 450 pounds to the foot. It is part of the force main running from the pumping station on the north side of the river to the industrial waste plant on the south side. Casper Construction of Grand Rapids is doing the work."
